a local purple heart veteran. veteran.brandon bailey served three tours overseas.in 2009... he was critically injured during an i-e-d blast in afghanistan.he retired from the marine corps and sent his prized harley davidson bike to california... where it was hand painted with a purple heart medallion.on sunday night... the bike was stolen from his parents' driveway in florence. buses here outside the cintas center for a trip that will include a couple different kinds of assists. this has been a dream season for xavier fans.. who've watched their musketeers knock off the number one team in the country and rise into the top 5 in the polls.now 94 students will get to go on a trip they could only dream of.they'll head to new york to watch xavier in the big east basketball tournament at the famed madison square garden. xavier is the second seeded team in the tournament behind villanova.. so fans are hopeful of a deep run.but the trip will be a success for the students regardless of what happens on the court.tomorrow students will take part in a service educational alliance serve dinner and do things like help kids homework.then they'll prepare for game on thursday at 7.. winner of marquette and st. john's. those students expected to check in about 6-30 this morning.and in case you were wondering the students are on spring break right now.. so they're not missing class for

two twenty year olds will be in court today accused of a drive-by shooting. shooting.aliyah jackson and marquis nelson were arrested in sycamore township last night.officers say the couple admitted to firing multiple shots at a car on kenwood road. two people were inside that car at the time-they were "not" hurt.the pair will be arrainged this morning. and a man accused of stealing gumball machines will be in court today.officers say 38-year-old bobby sinclair took the machines from the ollie's store on beechmont avenue in anderson township last september. store surveillance shows sinclair rolling the machines out the front door and into his truck. the machines are worth about two thousand dollars. madison school district officials say that later this week... there will be two forums for students and parents. parents.the meetings are aimed at making sure kids are feeling okay about returning to the classroom.they are planned for wednesday and thursday nights.a week ago... police say austin hancock

we've been talking about dangerous intersections in the tri-state.how about a dangerous overpass in florida. take a look at this video just into our newsroom of a garbage truck that landed on the road "below" an overpass after the driver lost control...and plunged to the ground.that's close to a 100 foot drop!miami florida police say the driver is in serious condition. luckily no one was below...although several cars in that part of little havana were destroyed from the fall. developing this morning...two volunteer firefighters.. suspended after racing a toddler to a hospital in a fire engine instead of an ambulance... ambulance...now *back on active duty... the firefighters were the first to respond to a call about a baby having a seizure at a

turning blue... and the ambulance miles away... so they made the decision to rush the little girl to the hospital themselves...problem is... the fire engine wasn't certified to transport anyone... "i've been in fire service 32 years and a paramedic. there are situations that dictate decisions must be made on the fly and not always with all the information." information."the toddler survived... and her parents are praising the firefighters. the fire chief - now clarifying the incident is under review because of the *way the toddler was taken to the hospital... not the care provided.

shot in the hip.it happened just before four-20 this morning on mcmicken avenue... near sharp alley.the victim was taken to u-c medical center... but she's expected to survive.there's no word on any suspects or arrests . this first uterus transplant in america is giving hope to some people are struggling to becomge pregnant.but the real test of success ....is the pregnancy itself. itself.the 26-year-old patient ... sharing her story for the first time... during a press conference.doctors say... lindsey is doing well after last month's surgery.she was born without a uterus ... surgeons at the cleveland clinic gave her a new one from a donor ... who had died. lindsey was told... she would never have kids ... when she was only sixteen!now, she may be able to. lindsay "i would like to express my gratitude to the donor's family. they have provided me with a gift that i will never be able to pay and i'm grateful.
